Ski Chalet Details

Large detached chalet built in 1960 in a beautiful location. South facing sitting room / dining area with balcony and open log fire, LCD screen for DVD player, CD player, i-pod dock. Well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge and microwave. 1 large double bedroom, 4 twin bedrooms, all south facing, 2 with access to balcony or terrace. 2 shower rooms and 1 bathroom. 3 WC. Large boiler/drying room (ideal for ski equipment) on lower ground floor with washing machine and freezer. Large garden with mature trees. Spectacular panoramic views over the Alps. Easy car/bus/foot access (25 mins walk) to Barboleuse telecabine (free parking) with access to entire Villars and Les Diablerets ski region. Children 9 and under ski for free in Villars. There is a train station at Barboleuse with frequent trains to Villars and Geneva airport. 90 mins drive from Geneva Airport. 8 hrs drive from Calais. Insurance - guests are not covered by our insurance for any personal accident or losses whilst staying at the property.  

Rental Facilities

The chalet is situated in the delightful and picturesque village of Barboleuse which is a 5 min drive or tram ride from Villars.  Barboleuse has a charming open-air ice-rink, a delicious boulangerie, small supermarket and two restaurants all within a 2 min drive or 25 min walk of the chalet.  There is a free mini bus which runs between the local villages which passes the chalet several times a day.  There is a beautiful toboggan area within an easy walk of the chalet where there is also a 'buvette' which serves delicious crepes and vin chaud!

Ski Chalet Chalet Jicaumaz is in Villars, Switzerland

The chalet is a 2 min drive to the telecabine at Barboleuse which takes you to the ski area of Les Chaux or a 5 min drive to the train station or telecabine at Villars which both take you to the ski area of Bretaye.  These ski areas are linked.The area of Villars/Barboleuse/Gryon is a traditional Swiss resort with year round activities. The three unspoilt Swiss villages are located 1300m up in the beautiful Alpes Vaudoise. They are on a south facing plateau, ensuring long sunny days and superb views of the Dents du Midi and Mont Blanc. The area is very popular with the Swiss, as it is free from the mass ski package crowd, and with families. Free ski pass for under 9s. David Coulthard and Jaques Villeneuve have homes in Barboleuse and Villars. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes and there is a nightclub in Villars. In the winter the pistes cater for skiers of all abilities, particularly for intermediates. The Glacier at Les Diabelerets, for year round skiing, is about an hour away during the winter, and 1/2 hour in the summer. The cross country skiing trails start at 300m from the chalet and cover the very beautiful Solalex area.
