Valmorel Practicalities

Practical information and Apres Ski guide to Valmorel

Valmorel's village atmosphere sets it apart from the other main Tarantaise resorts, and the low buildings covered in local stone and wood give it a certain charm. slopes gives a good mix of sunny and shaded slopes, so fresh snow tends to last.

Bars and Clubs

La Cordee attracts the foreign apres ski crowd, while L'Annexe is a nice bar and lounge. Local skiers frequent Le Cafe de la Gare in an attempt to escape the hordes at Le Perce Neige. After, head to - well, I'After for dancing.

Eating

Our man in Valmorel picks out Le Petit Prince, while you'll either love or hate La Marmite and its Savoyarde fondue, L'Aigle Blanc is a unique location just out of town with an eccentric owner - and not just because he doesn't accept credit cards.
