The resort is composed of a number of small satellite villages, each of which includes mostly chalet-style buildings with self-catering accommodation. Unfortunately these villages aren't linked by a free bus service.

There are dedicated beginner areas in Valmorel ('mini domaine') and nearby Doucy. In Valmorel you'll find some easy, easy blues off the Creve Coeur lift and the Cote Soleil lift.
For confident intermediates, Valmorel offers a lot of challenges.The obvious place to start is the Col du Mottet, with its many reds, while a long range excursion to St Francois will take up a jolly day and test your legs.

Valmoral has gained a reputation for being an excellent family car free resort, set at 1400m reaching up to 2550m. The resorts sites right next to the slopes allowing for ski in, ski out however the majority of pistes are aimed at beginners, the more advanced skier could easily find them self’s looking for something to test their abilities very quickly.
The resort offers a number of good restaurants and several bars but once the lifts closes Valmoral does not have the best night life or après-ski environments in France.
Valmorel is a good value destination, but can suffer from a lack of snow owing to its lower altitude. As long as you don't the lack of tough skiing, this is an ideal venue for first-time skiers and families in particular.
Valmoral is great location to be during the summer months, offering a multitude of activities on an off the mountains.
