Ski Chalet Details

Located in the historic ski resort of St Gervais les Bains (also known as St Gervais Mt Blanc), between the neighbouring resorts of Chamonix and Megève, Chalet Roches is a traditional yet stylish alpine chalet. Extensively restyled and refurbished to provide a high standard of accommodation, catering and facilities, it's perfect for fun winter holidays with friends and family, or a great summer base to explore the vast array of activities nearby.

Winter guests are pampered with fluffy bathrobes as well as many other little luxuries and there is even a complimentary evening bar. Returning from the slopes you will find a selection of teas and coffee to accompany your freshly baked cakes/pastries. For those who still have room, an expertly prepared four course dinner is provided and is complimented by the wine of your choice taken from a carefully prepared wine list which we have selected to compliment our style of food.

In summer the chalet continues to offer great value for holiday makers, although unless by arrangement  our tariffs are on a 'B&B' basis along with 'summer' faciltities. See our summer page at www.pistepursuits.com for more details.

Rental Facilities

Chalet Roches has been extensively refurbished to offer stylish and relaxed accommodation with a traditional feel throughout whilst providing our guests with every modern facility. Winter & Summer guests will enjoy our large garden whether building Snowmen & having snowball fights in winter, or due to its southerly aspect, benefiting from the sun all day long in summer. The garden has been carefully laid out so guests can enjoy the mountain views at all times - particularly whilst relaxing in the 8 person hot-tub or sauna in the early evening, when the views of sunsets are at their spectacular best.

Accommodation comprises four ensuite bedrooms, 3 of which are doubles with one permanent twin. However, one of the extra-large double beds can be provided with a split mattress and bedding to be used as a further twin. The open plan dining/living room boasts a snug area which is ideal for those wishing to read or just relax with a cup of tea. Those who prefer the facilities of the lounge can listen to CD's or enjoy a library of over 300 films or watch UK channels on the LCD panel screen TV. We also provide a range of games from simple cards, to chess, Trivial Pursuits & other board games for our guests to use at their leisure.

Chalet Roches is aimed at the discerning client who appreciates quality accommodation, great food and extensive facilities provided at a fair price. We strive to ensure that as well as being thoroughly satisfied with their stay, all our guests leave with the intention of returning. Guests are pampered with fluffy bathrobes, comfy slippers, and in winter there is even a complimentary evening bar to sample an aperitif before dinner, or just to use for evening tipples – the choice is yours.

Chalet Food

Breakfast: Winter or summer, a great breakfast is always the best way to start the day, and at Chalet Roches we provide our guest with a hearty first meal of the day. Freshly baked croissants, baguettes and pastries, cereals, porridge, fruit, yoghurts, fresh juices, tea or coffee etc. our guests leave the table ready to take on the most arduous of activities, fully fuelled and ready to go.

Afternoon Tea: Freshly baked cakes, pastries or biscuits will welcome our winter guests back from the slopes along with a selection of traditional, herbal and aromatic teas or coffee.

Dinner: Our winter guests are provided with a four course dinner with wine and coffee 6 evenings per week. We have spent a considerable amount of time designing menus which combine traditional cuisine with the best of farmhouse cooking in order to provide quality food for a delicious dining experience. Our philosophy is that our food should look good, taste great and allow no-one to leave the table hungry. See below for a sample menu:

• Starter:  Trio of Fresh Ravioli with Olive Oil & Pine-Nut Dressing
• Main Course: Tender Mignons of Pork in Cider & Port Sauce, with Potato Dauphinoise & Seasonal Vegetables
• Dessert:  Poached Pears in Rich Chocolate Sauce
• Cheese:  Platter Local Cheeses Including Roblechon, Beaufort, Tomme, Gruyere & Chevre served with Fruit

Wine:  We firmly believe that it is unacceptable to provide 'cheap plonk' for our guests’ consumption. Therefore, unlike many catered chalets, we do not just provide a single house wine with your meal. Instead we offer a selection of quality wines (many of which are award winning) and have been especially chosen to compliment the style of cooking which we provide. Find a wine which everyone enjoys and drink it all week, or choose a different wine each night - the choice is yours.

Ski Chalet Chalet Roches is in St Gervais, France

Just a 45min drive from Geneva Airport by complimentary winter transfer, having its own TGV link to Paris, and great road connections, travelling to St Gervais could not be easier.

 The town itself is one of the oldest resorts in the alps and retains much of its original charm, whilst benefitting from a very active Mayor who ensures the resort is continually improved and beautifully kept. The town has numerous bars, restaurants & shops, and the region is famous for its fabulous fondues & tartiflettes.St. Gervais-Mont Blanc is located at the heart of the Èvasion Mont-Blanc ski domain in the Haute Savoie. Nestling between the Chamonix Valley and Mègeve, our town, famous for its health & beauty treaments at the mountain thermal spa and the fact Mont-Blanc sits within its boundaries, has numerous activities both winter & summer to keep just about everyone happy. As well as skiing & toboganning, there is an ice rink, dog-sledding, a swiiming pool (indoor & outdoor) mountain biking, climbing, walking, parascending, horse-riding, rafting & canoeing and much, much more.

The Évasion Mont-Blanc ski domain offers approx 460km of pistes all readily accessible from your chalet. A 100m walk brings you to the ski-bus stop for the bubble to Mègeve, Les Contamines, St.Nicholas etc. Adjacent to the bus stop you will find the Mont-Blanc Tram, a  which will take you to the slopes of Les Houches in the Chamonix Valley. Alternatively, the Chalet minibus will whisk you to the telecabine which is just 3mins away or as well as any other main lift within the domain.
