Ski Chalet Details

The Burnie Glacier Chalet sleeps eleven guests, two guides, and a cook. It offers guided and catered trips as well as chalet rentals. Access is by helicopter in the winter and by float plane in the summer. The lodge is built from local timber and sits beside the toe of the massive Burnie Glacier at the edge of an ancient forest.

The lodge has two rooms for couples or families and two rooms with three and four beds. Bedding and linen are supplied. There is a wonderful cedar sauna. Power is supplied by solar panels and a gas generator. Internet access is wireless throughout the lodge through a satellite system.

All this is pretty standard in most places, but the Burnie Glacier Chalet is in true wilderness. No roads, no power lines, no ski lifts are within the new Tazdli Wiyez Bin provincial Park.
