Serre Chevalier Practicalities

Practical information and Apres Ski guide to Serre Chevalier

'France's largest unknown resort' - family-friendly, with awesome freeriding and empty slopes (at the right times).

Bars and clubs

The bars above are popular later in the evening as well as Mojos in Villeneuve, L'Escapade in Chantemerle, Central Bar and Eden in Briancon. Villeneuve's La Baita is the best nightclub.

Shopping

Each village has good food and rental shops in large commercial centres.

Eating

In Briancon, foodies head for Le PasseSimple, which recreates ancient local recipes. In Chantermerle, Le Crystal is the gourmet's choice, while Le Petit Chalet and LeTriptyque are both popular. In Villeneuve, tiny and atmospheric La Marotte serves up local cuisine, as does La Pastorale.

Best Mountain Restaurant

For gourmet heaven on the slopes, you can't beat Le Bivouac's'first class'restaurant above the Casse Boeuf chair, although the less expensive Tatou is also popular. Pra Long on Brian on combines food and views and, for a truly authentic experience, join the locals in Peyra-Juana on Monetier.
