Schladming

Find Chalets Resort Guide to Schladming

Schladming is part of the Dachstein-Tauern-Ski Region which in turn is part of the Ski amadé area (one of the biggest ski regions in Austria).

Schladming is famous as the host of international Alpine Ski World Cup races held at the state of the art Planai venue. Schladming has also hosted the Special Olympics World Winter Games.

Schladming it self is set at a fairly low altitude but the snow record is good and the pistes are well looked after. Schladming lift system has been updated increasing accessibility and cutting queues. Schladming has more than 50km pistes, with excellent skiing for intermediates including some tree-line runs. Nearby are the Obertauern and Dachstein glaciers (45 minutes away). Schladming is excellent for Snowboarding improvers - one of the most boarder-friendly resorts in Europe - two parks, two half-pipes and a boardercross track.

Schladming has a traffic-free centre, excellent restuarants both on and off the snow. Après-ski is pretty lively. Transfer times are great as Salzburg is only an hour away and there is a train link to the town.
