Ski Chalet Details

Luxury 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom chalet with hot tub, sleeping 10 people in stylish and spacious accommodation. Built in 2005, Chalet Papillon is set in a small cluster of properties, in an enviable position above the historic village of Samoens. It offers the ideal location to get away from it all, yet is conveniently located, with Samoens and all it's amenities, a 15 minute walk or 2 minute drive away. The ski lift is 2km away. The chalet is available on a self catered basis, although we are able to offer flexible catering at this property.

The chalet is truly impressive, with high ceilings, exposed beams and quality throughout. The living area is extremely large, with stunning views through the floor to ceiling windows, across much of the living area. The log burning fire, for those cosy nights in, is surrounded by deep and comfy leather sofas. There is a large plasma satellite TV with DVD player and stereo. Situated off the living room is the spacious dining area, very comfortable for 10 people around the lovely wooden table with leather chairs. There is also a reading area with further seating and the open plan kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, full size oven and ceramic hob, dishwasher and ample workspace. A large south facing balcony offers ample space for relaxing and outside dining. There is also a large hot tub for those bubbly nights in, situated on the south side of the chalet overlooking the fantastic views of Samoens village and surrounding mountains!

Rental Facilities

On the first floor, there are 4 bedrooms, 2 of which are double ensuite bedrooms with large power showers, wc's and sinks. Also with sunny balconies off each. There is a triple bedroom with double and single above and the fourth bedroom has a set of full size bunk beds and a single bed. A further family bathroom with full size bath and integrated shower, sink and wc is also on this level, as well as another wc.

The ground floor of the chalet has a fantastic games room, offering full size table tennis, 7 foot pool table and air hockey and darts. The chalet benefits from underfloor heating, it's own double garage, ski and boot room and ample storage for equipment and bikes.

Chalet Food

Flexible catering is available at chalet papillon. This can consist of any number of given nights either of a drop of service or a full service including wine, table service etc. We are also able to offer a breakfast drop off service.

The Grand Massif Express lift is now open in summer as well as winter; this is fantastic news for walkers, bikers, paragliders and sports enthusiasts alike.

Winter facts….The Grand Massif is the 4th largest ski area in France and has one of the lowest lift to beds ratios…so much smaller queues than other well know resorts. Samoens now has a high speed lift from 1600m up to 2500m…this means less queuing, less time on the lifts and more skiing!

We are also offering some fantastic alternative activities in the winter, so if you are a non skier there are plenty of other exciting things to take part in, why not try our snow shoeing trip for example...a fantastic experience after which you can enjoy a delicious Savoyard meal in a Yurt on the side of the mountain!

There has never been a better time to holiday in the Samoens area, with an abundance of activities to choose from, breathtaking scenery to enjoy, a delightful village to explore and friendly locals to meet.
