Ski Bulgaria

Where to ski and snowboard in Bulgaria

Bulgaria offers skiers some exceptional value for money and with increasingly developed facilities and the Bulgarian government investing lots of money on upgrades, Bulgaria is becoming a real option for UK skiers.

Bulgarian catered/" title="catered Ski Chalets">catered chalets tend to offer basic food but in plentiful potions - generally the food in restaurants can't (and doesn't) compete with France or Italy. There's good après-ski - generally fun, good natured pubs and clubs atmosphere - think pumping techno or Euro Pop.

Bulgaria History and Culture

One of the potential advantages of skiing in Bulgaria is that you'll be going somewhere different, there are lots of non-ski related hot spots such as the beautiful Rila Monastery - which is found between Borovets and Bansko. Bulgaria generally has a host of ancient fortresses, lakes, waterfalls, caves and mineral springs.

Bulgarian ski resorts

Bansko is a modern resort with 70 km of piste and a highest peak of 2914m has a good terrain park and good après ski in traditional Bansko Taverns. Borovets is Bulgaria's oldest winter resort, and it's largest, it's situated in pine woods and an absolute haven for ski or snowboarding beginners. Après-ski drinks are cheap - especially beer and spirits.

Bulgaria is perfect for beginners (excellent english speaking ski schools) or intermediates on budget looking for open terrain.
