Chalet Kammleitn is a traditional chalet, nestled in a tiny hamlet just a few minutes drive from the snow-assured ski resort of Nassfeld. We provide our guests with everything they want, and more, from their winter ski holiday. We have created a haven where you will be as happy staying at home as you are out and about. Delicious food and wine in abundance, goes without saying, as do comfortable rooms, roaring log fires, and a welcoming environment. So when we say home from home, here at Chalet Kammleitn, we really mean it.

Ski Chalet Details

Chalet Kammleitn has been newly renovated, and offers our guests a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. All bedrooms are equipped with en-suite facilities, and we have a selection of twin, triple and quad rooms. Some of our rooms have private balcony, whilst all rooms have spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, or of the Nassfeld slopes.

Our facilities include a Cosy Guest Lounge with beautiful Austrian Log Fire, Flat-Screened TV plus DVD Player, along with comfy sofas and chairs; A separate Games Room with Table Football, Playstation 2, TV and Board Games etc; a spacious Dining Room, with beautiful, hand-carved ceiling; ; Ski Room with boot warmers and ski racks.

Rental Facilities

After an exhilarating day out on the slopes, head back home to Chalet Kammleitn, and sit around the roaring Log Fire, whilst tucking into your well-earned Afternoon Tea - you can choose from a selection of teas, freshly brewed coffee, hot chocolate and Gluhwein, plus of course, the days' freshly made cakes.

Your evening meal is served in our spacious Dining Room, with it's beautiful hand-carved ceiling. This the ideal place for guests to meet up and discuss their days' skiing, whilst enjoying a well-earned, freshly, home-made Three Course evening meal, and good quality house wine.

For guests that want a bit more activity, there is the Games Room, with Table Football, Playstation 2 and Table Tennis (Summer only). Plus a selection of Board Games, and for those that want to try out their singing talents - we have the Playstation 2 Sing Star Party!

Chalet Food

We know that food is a very important part of your holiday, and with that in mind, we hope that our menu will appeal and satisfy all our guests.

Breakfast is Buffet-Style and is a traditional Austrian breakfast, with a choice of cereals, yoghurts, freshly baked breads, a meat and cheese platter, preserves and a choice of boiled and scrambled eggs, fruit juice, a selection of teas and freshly brewed coffee.

Afternoon Tea is served in front of our Log Fire, when you return from your day out on the slopes. Freshly baked cake, tea, freshly brewed coffee, hot chocolate or Gluhwein.

Both breakfast and afternoon tea, are served 7 days per week. Wednesday evening is our night off, and we can reserve a table for our guests at a local restaurant.

Six nights of the week we serve a delicious, home-cooked 3-Course evening meal which is taken in our spacious Dining Room. We serve traditional European dishes, with good quality, complimentary wine, throughout your meal. Coffee & Tea to follow.

Vegetarians & Special Diets are also well catered for - please advise us at the time of booking.

Ski Resort and Chalet Location

Ski Chalet Chalet Kammleitn is in Nassfeld, Austria

Chalet Kammleitn is just a few minutes drive from The Millennium Express Gondola Station. The free, regular ski bus, stops just 200m from our door. Guests also have easy access into the beautiful town of Hermagor, with its banks, post office, supermarkets, shops, restaurants and bars.

Nassfeld Ski Arena is located right on the Italian/Austrian borders, and has been aptly named as a little known gem of a resort, in the sunny province of Carinthia. Infact you can even ski over the Austrian/Italian border, and stop for an authententic Italian pasta dish or pizza, at very reasonable prices.

Due to its high altitude and comprehensive snow canon coverage, Nassfeld boasts of excellent snow coverage throughout the winter ski season. It is also the largest and most modern ski resort in Carinthia, and has been placed in the Top Ten of Austria's best ski resorts.

The Millenium Express gondola is the longest in Europe, and takes just 17 minutes to transport you to an altitude of just over 2000 meters. The views of both the Austrian and Italian Alps are simply stunning.

The Skiing

There are 110km of pistes, suitable for all levels of skiers and boarders, plus an amazing amount of off-piste for the more confident. The Carnia, is the longest run at 7.6km in length, and we have the longest floodlit piste in the Alps at 2.2km which is open one night per week.

Snowboarders are also well catered for, with two board parks with quarter pipes, kickers, table tops and a snow cross park, plus the natural snowboard area at Kronalp.

Apres Ski

There are a good selection of Après ski bars, for those wanting to party into the early hours. Head for the Barenhutte near the gondola station for the best action and atmosphere. Alois, The AlpIn Bar and The Cube also have excellent après ski bars and nightlife.

Other activities in the area, include 80 km of cross-country skiing (easy to difficult), 55 km of winter hiking trails, 5 toboggan runs, horse-drawn sleigh rides, ice skating on Lake Weissensee – Europe’s largest natural ice rink, or hire some of the alternative snow equipment, such as snowbikes, rubber tubes, airboards etc.
