Ski Chalet Details

La Ferme à Jules is a beautiful converted Savoyard farmhouse which was originally built in 1808. It sleeps up to 26 people in 10 spacious ensuite rooms and has a huge living and dining area surrounded by balconies from which you can enjoy the incredible views stretching down the valley. Despite its large size, it still feels cosy and comfortable with plenty of seating around the log fires.

While we generally run the chalet as a whole, it can also be split into 2 self-contained halves which each have their own kitchen and living rooms. The "Nantaux" side sleeps up to 14 people and "La Chavache" sleeps up to 12 people. Both sides share access to the ski room & bar area with the jacuzzi and sauna.

The layout of the chalet allows us to accommodate groups of different shapes and sizes. You can book the following (depending on availabilty):

• Double/twin room (as many as you need!)
• Family room (with double/twin bed plus a set of bunk beds)
• Half of the chalet for groups of up to 12 or 14 (exclusive use)
• Whole chalet for groups of up to 26 (exclusive use)

What's Included:

• Seven nights accommodation in a two person room either set up as a twin or a king size double.
• Minibus transfer service to and from Geneva airport

Chalet Food

Food

"Food is pretty much my biggest passion, even more so than snowboarding! I love cooking and spend a truly excessive amount of time planning menus and playing with recipes. This came from growing up in a family that was utterly obsessed with food and some of my happiest times have been spent sharing a meal with friends and family. So I take cooking for our guests seriously and aim to provide something really special. The food is a combination of modern and traditional dishes, inspired by food that I either grew up eating or have discovered since living in this region of France.

Food should always taste delicious, but it is also important to us to use good quality ingredients and so we use meat and eggs that are free-range and everything else is really fresh and locally sourced where possible."

Allergen Free Food:

The latest research shows that 1-2% of the UK population has severe food allergies, at least 1 in 70 people have coeliac diseas and between 20 and 30% of the population suffer from some degree of food intolerance at any one time so this is something we feel it is important to be aware of when running a catered chalet. We have experience in catering for those on restricted diets or who have food allergies and sensitivities.

It is something we are really committed to and have made a concerted effort to learn about the various measures needed to ensure that we closely adhere to certain diets. The chalet even has two kitchens which enables us to keep one dairy and gluten free. We are very fortunate that Al's aunt, Michelle Berriedale Johnson runs the Foods Matter websites which are an invaluable resource for coeliacs and those with food sensitivities and allergies. They provide information on the latest news and research and have lots of fantastic allergen free recipes as well. We use Michelle's "Allergy Catering Manual" to help us plan "free from" menus and adhere to the best practice in food preparation.  

If you have food allergies or sensitivities then we will consult with you to ensure that you receive the same level of choice and quality of food while staying with us, regardless of your needs.

Please be aware that for people with nut allergies we will do our best to keep food separate for you but unfortunately we cannot make any guarantees for people who are seriously allergic

Wine:

Unlimited complimentary wine is included as part of the package and we have carefully chosen some wonderful white and red wines which will work well for general consumption and will also compliment the menu.

For those of you who are particularly interested in wine we can also offer a selection of French wines from the surrounding regions for a supplementary cost (well below restaurant prices).

Ski Chalet La Ferme à Jules is in Morzine, France

La Ferme à Jules is situated in the pretty area known as Le Lavanchy which is located between Morzine, Montriond and the very fast Ardent telecabine.

Here is why we think the location is hard to beat...

• We can get you to the heart of the Avoriaz ski area 10-15 mins quicker than if you were staying in a central Morzine chalet. This is the AliKats ski-time pledge - we aim to give you maximum time on on the mountain!
• 6 minutes to the Ardent telecabine, which itself takes 4 minutes up to the beautiful Lindarets bowl. So, you can be skiing 10 mins after leaving the chalet!
• From Lindarets, you can take access Avoriaz, Chatel and Mosettes ski areas injust 1 lift ride
• No downloading required! You can ski right down to the carpark where the AliKats team will meet you and whisk you back to a glass of wine in the hot-tub in just 6 minutes.
• Non-skiiers can take the 4 minute Ardent telecabine up to meet their group for lunch in Lindarets easily, so that everyone can enjoy the mountain together.
• You can be skiing in Switzerland with only 2 chairlifts from the Lindarets bowl!
• Beginner skiiers can get to the lessons in Lindarets with no tricky chairlifts or pistes to navigate so they can keep their confidence intact.
• It is only a 5 minute drive to Morzine or 3 minutes to Montriond. It's quick and easy to visit town to go shopping, have dinner or visit the bars. We offer a lift into town every evening after dinner for those wishing to carry on the party outside of the chalet and can book you a taxi home as well. 
• The views! Whilst relaxing in the hot-tub or on the balconies, you can enjoy unobstructed views stretching down the valley with our favourite mountain (Mt Chery) in all its splendour.
• Le Lavanchy is a pretty hamlet with no main road nearby so you feel like you are in a haven of natural beauty with none of the kerfuffle of town spoiling your holiday.
