Chalet Genepi is truly in a class of it’s own and arguably one of the premier chalets Meribel has to offer. Located in the exclusive Belvedere area at an elevation of 1,750 metres, the chalet’s south facing aspect provides unrivalled panoramic views across the Meribel Valley and maximum hours of glorious sunshine. 50 metres from the Georges Mauduit piste, access to the main lift area of La Chaudanne couldn’t be simpler and after a day on the slopes ski right back to the chalet.

Ski Chalet Details

Built in traditional Savoyarde style to the highest specifications, the chalet offers accommodation over four floors.  The centre-piece of the chalet is an expansive south facing living room with an open log fireplace and the south facing dining room features a magnificent oak dining table complimented by an impressive floor to ceiling stone clad fireplace.

The eight spacious bedrooms are all fully ensuite each featuring twin or super-king size beds with feather pillows and duvets, Jacuzzi bath and shower, satellite television, private telephone and personal safe. Four of the bedrooms have south facing balconies and five are suitable for the inclusion of cots. Please note that one bedroom may only be used for single occupancy.

The chalet is surrounded by expansive south facing sun terraces with a large outdoor Jacuzzi, bar, adjacent Sauna with a pulsating shower and an ensuite massage room. There is a study area equipped with telephone, fax, computer, broadband and wireless Internet access and a games room with TV, DVD, video, table tennis, table football & darts and an impressive wine cellar.

Six staff run the chalet including a manager, two hostesses, an internationally trained chef and two drivers providing a bespoke service of the highest level whilst retaining a home from home atmosphere. In addition, three vehicles are dedicated to the chalet as an in-resort transportation service and a ski and snowboard equipment team are always on-hand to provide a full equipment hire service from the comfort of the chalet.

The day starts at our chalets with a hearty breakfast of porridge, cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit salad and fruit juices, freshly-baked bread, croissants, pain au chocolat and an à la carte cooked breakfast.  On return from the slopes homemade cakes, bread and jam, tea, coffee and vin chaud will have been laid out for you to enjoy in front of a roaring log fire.  Evening Champagne and canapés are served followed by a four course dinner which includes a selection of local cheeses and specially-selected wines. On your chalet’s day off our Managers will book one of Meribel’s many excellent restaurants. Our chefs are also happy to prepare Champagne picnic lunches which our drivers will then deliver to you at lunchtime at your choice of location.

We will contact you prior to your arrival to ascertain any dietary or children’s requirements and to confirm that you are happy with your chalet chef’s menu.

Ski Resort and Chalet Location

Ski Chalet Genepi is in Meribel, France

The Méribel valley is one of the largest of the French Alps extending from Brides–les-Bains at 600m to Péclet-Polset at 3,560m. The town has 57 ski lifts in its immediate vicinity to serve 74 groomed ski runs that total 150 kilometres.  One popular run is the Olympic women’s downhill run and as the epicentre of the world’s largest ski domain, there are endless stretches of off-piste. Queuing is a rarity thanks to a new electronic lift pass system unveiled in the 06/07 season, two 50 person cable cars, over 40 gondolas and 25 high speed chair lifts.

The Méribel valley, including the purpose-built Mottaret area, suits skiers of all levels.  Beginners can cruise down the wide gentle slopes of the Altiport, a tree-lined area ideal for those experiencing snow for the first time.  For Intermediates, the range of runs is almost limitless with 89 blue and 116 red runs.  For the truly Advanced skier every day here is filled with challenges and adventures, be it acres of off-piste, endless mogul runs or simply kilometres of groomed perfection.

Méribel has two areas dedicated to free-style riders.  In Meribel-Mottaret there is the Plattières snowpark with its 17 acres - over a length of 1,300 yards - of jumps, whoops, banks and two half-pipes.  The Méribel Moonpark offers one competition-standard half pipe, one half-pipe for learners and a boarder cross with whoops, tables and other obstacles.

Méribel, Courchevel and La Tania offer 90 km of cross-country tracks, green and blues for beginners and red for more experienced Nordic skiers.

For those not skiing there are many mountain restaurants accessible by car or on foot where you can meet up with the skiing members of your party for lunch and we can also advise you on local walks as well as other activities such as toboganning, parapenting, swimming, ice skating, tennis, squash and quad biking.  In addition, the beautiful Lac de Tueda is the perfect spot from which to appreciate the snow-clad peaks without donning skis or a board.

Meribel Guide

Meribel is situated in the heart of the 3 Valleys, the worlds largest ski area. In Meribel alone you have access to 15 gondola lifts and 19 chair lifts. With all chalets being built form traditional local stone and wood, the village blends in perfectly to its surrounds and offers some stunning...
