Ski Chalet Details

Over the years we have stayed in many chalets, all of which had various failings. In building and furnishing our own chalet, we have tried to provide accommodation to meet our own standards. There is enough comfy seating for everyone, each bedroom has a full length mirror, plenty of storage space and extra pegs for ski kit. All rooms are of course ensuite. Bedroom furniture is in solid pine - comfortable beds!. We have kept the chalet light and airy with exposed timber columns and floor beams. The bathrooms have vanity units with large mirrors, power sockets and lights, heated towel rails and lots of hot water.

In the garden in summer, our heated plunge pool ensures that kids (of all ages) can have fun whatever the weather!

We have free wifi broadband internet access in the chalet should you need to be in touch with the world! We will advise you of the security code needed - you need a laptop with 802.11g/b wifi capability. You must have your own anti virus protection!

The chalet is constructed in traditional style, entirely in timber for the upper two floors. The first floor is tiled throughout and the second floor is pine boarded.

The chalet has a hard wired smoke detector and fire alarm system as legally required for all similar establishments.

If you are seeking a comfortable, civilised and relaxing holiday, then we have much to offer you. If however you are looking for somewhere for a stag/hen party type holiday, then this is not the place for you!

Summer 2009

Our chalet, excluding bedroom 5 (coquelicot), is run by us as a "chambres table d'hote" with bed and breakfast or half board catering. You may stay for as long as you like or just for one night if you wish.

Ground floor

Entrance Lobby. Heated cupboard space for outside shoes (not to be worn in the chalet)

Playroom with Video/DVD/CD/Playstation2 (bring your favorite games and memory card!) for the kids to get away!

Lockable garage with facility for hosing off bikes/kit outside. (summer only)

Parking to the front of the chalet for up to 5 cars

First Floor

Spacious Lounge dining room with plenty of soft seats and a 3m dining table. CD/radio and TV/video/DVD/Sky(FreeToAir only). Covered outdoor deck facing South.

Please note that the kitchen is not available for clients' use in summer.

Bedroom 1 (jonquille) Double with ensuite bathroom and toilet. Balcony looking out to the front, late afternoon sun.

Bedroom 2 (gentian) 2 single beds. Ensuite bathroom with toilet. (3rd bed possible making single plus 2 in full sized bunks)

Underfloor heating to all first floor rooms.

Covered terrace off the lounge facing south with sun most of the day - grassed sunny garden with full sun all day - for sunbathing - not bikeriding!.

Our heated plunge pool in full sun in the garden is 4m diameter and 1m deep, raised above ground so no danger of accidently falling in! It is available to all our guests for the duration of their stay (summer season only).

Second Floor

Bedroom 3 (edelweiss) double or twin with ensuite shower room with toilet. Additional single or childs bed/cot possible. Pitched ceiling.

Bedroom 4 (rose) double or twin plus full size single (sleeps 3) with ensuite shower room with toilet. Pitched ceiling.

Bedroom 5 (coquelicot) king size plus single and childs bed or cot with ensuite bathroom and external, as well as internal, access via stairs and separate fenced garden ( - room not available to guests in summer. ) Ideal for families with very young children as fridge and microwave are available in this room.

Hot water radiators in second floor bedrooms. Pillows, quilts, bed linen and towels are supplied and changed weekly.

Included Services

• Linen - in Winter we do include linen for all beds and towels and offer a 15euros pppw reduction if less than 12 sets are needed. 15 euros pppw increase for more than 12 sets. We will only reduce the number to match the number of people staying. Note that a double bed made up counts as 2 people.
• We can help you pre order your Ski equipment from Ski Fun Shop. Our clients get a 25% discount and can leave their equipment there every night at no charge (even if your own equipment). This shop is right next to the main Chavannes lifts.
• Basics pack including: Salt, pepper, 1 litre milk, tea bags, instant coffee, sugar, dishwasher powder, washing up liquid, washing liquid, toilet rolls, tea towels.

Winter Optional Catering & Other service

• Subject to availability, we can offer an in house evening catering service, 17.50euros pp for 2 course family meals, 25 euros pp for 3 courses. (provide your own drinks)
• Pre arrival shopping service: Cost of shopping + 20 euros or 20%, which ever is greater.
• We can arrange/provide airport transfers - please ask for a quote.
• Mid week towel change, 15euros pppw.
• Mid week clean of floors, bathrooms, 100 euros.
• Full end of week clean for 175 euros (if you decide in advance to not clean it yourselves and pre-pay and pre-arrange this service)
• Travel cot and/or high chair hire - 20 euros each per week.
• If you pre order Lift Passes from us, we can have them ready for you at the chalet for your first days skiing - prices TBA when available.

A few points to note:

Smoking is forbidden inside the chalet. Outside or hard soled shoes are not allowed to be worn inside the chalet beyond the entrance lobby. A heated shoe cupboard is available and we suggest that you bring a pair of slippers.

Summer Catering:

The chalet is run as a Chambre/Table D'Hote.  We live in (therefore maximum no of guests is 10) and prepare breakfast (7 euros pp, 9 euros for cooked) and optionally 3 course dinner for 27 euros pp including wine.

Ski Chalet Chalet du Coin is in Les Gets, France

On the high street approximately 250m level walk from the main Chavannes lifts and town centre.  Opposite the (Thursday) market square.

This chalet really is near the middle of town, there is no need for transport when you are here as you can't park any closer to the lifts!
