Ski Chalet Details

Less than 300 metres or three minutes walking distance to the ski-slopes, ski-lifts, shops, bars and many restaurants, yet in a peaceful location with stunning views looking over the snowy glacier peaks and nearby pistes.

Inside, chalet Glacier has rustic wooden beams, a big log fire and charming alpine decor.  All rooms are ensuite.

The massive L2A ski are boast some of the highest skiing in Europe with pistes to suit all abilities.  Rod is a fulltime ski instructor with a local ski school, and we can provide special packages with in house instruction.  Chalet Glacier is open summer too for glacier skiing, introduction to race training camps, world class downhill mountain biking and tons of other recreational and sporting activities.

Dianne, also a BASI qualified ski instructor, has spent most of the last ten years working for ski tour operators, and is an experienced host and passionate cook.

Les 2 Alpes is a fantastic friendly resort with fantastic apres ski and lots of non skiing activities too.

Chalet Food

Dianne has spent most of the last ten years working for chalet companies - initially as cook and latterly as Alpine Manager responsible for menu planning with a large tour operator.

For dinner we will prepare a delicious three course evening meal - some typical examples might be:

• partan bree soup, local rillettes pate and nutty bread, individual tartlets with sweet onion confit....
• slow roasted duck with sage, rhubarb and ginger sauce with creamy mash, stuffed marrow slices and roasted tomatoes.
• salmon on a bed of caramelised leeks, with a puff pastry lid, served with fresh salad and penne pasta.
• berry fruits crumble, hot chocolate pudding, classic banoffee pie, cinnamon and red wine chilled pears...

To compliment your meal we will serve free red and white wine during the course of dinner.  On your first evening we will serve welcome apperatifs by the fire.  We are happy to cater for children, with a separate earlier mealtime if you prefer.  Breakfast and afternoon tea included.

Ski Resort and Chalet Location

Ski Chalet Chalet Glacier is in Les Deux Alpes, France

Les 2 Alpes is situated in the Isere region of France, conveniently located one hour east of the town of Grenoble.  Just across the valley from L2A is Alpe d’Huez, and over the Col du Lauteret is Serre Chevalier – both of these resorts are included on the L2A lift pass as days out.

The ski area of L2A has a huge variety of skiing throughout its 220km of pistes.  The resort itself is at 1650m, the bulk of the skiing is above 2000m, and the highest lift takes you to a staggering 3600m.  The main nursery slopes are excellent for beginners, all conveniently at resort level and serviced with snow cannons.  Higher up in the ski area there are plenty of big cruisey blues and greens for intermediates.  Experts are spoilt for choice with challenging blacks and an amazing array of off piste skiing at all altitudes.  The resort is linked via the glacier with the off piste mecca of La Grave.  L2A boasts the biggest and best snow park in the whole of Europe.
