The name Les Deux Alpes reflects the shared history of two sheep-grazing villages (or alpages) - Venose and Mont de Lans. Today the villages are joined as one resort by way of a 2-km strip of hotels, bars and shops that runs along a narrow plateau.
Les Deux Alps is just an hour by car from Grenoble airport, with its 225km of slopes, its mythical spots like the La Meije Valleys and the world class Snow Park, Les Deux Alpes is a high altitude resort with a glacier peaking at 3,600m.

Several short lifts at the base of the village access nursery runs (four lifts are free). There are lots of gentle runs up on the glacier, although less confident novices won't like the busy green down to the village, making a lift down the only option. Pied Montet and La Fee offer gentle, less crowded runs.
Tentative intermediates will thrive on the gentle, open glacial slopes but confident intermediates who haven't fully conguered off-piste might find the limited amount of (crowded) terrain disappointing. They should try the red Fee run and the relatively steep Super Diable, which leads into Descente, practise powder technigue on the Dome red on the glacier and learn some tricks in the terrain park.
You're spoiled for choice here. Favourite routes include freeriding down the Clots de Chalance into the Fee bowl, the Vallons Diable itinerary and North Rachas area by Grand Couloir from Tete Moute.
The La Fee bowl offers endless accessible powder hits with different angles. It's often opened late for avalanche sweeping,
This resort has has an active nightlife with thirty bars and pubs offer a warm and fun atmosphere in the evenings. For lovers of good food, Les Deux Alpes offers a Michelin-starred restaurant and traditional restaurants offering typical local cuisine.
With an unrestricted view out over the Alps, La Croisière Blanche (The White Cruise) takes you on a trip aboard a crawler carrier at an altitude of 3,600m. You can also enjoy the unique sculptures in a 300m plus gallery in the ice cave.
