Chalet Food

From our experience we understand that providing quality cuisine is key to our guests satisfaction.

We know that not everyone’s tastes and requirements are the same and work hard to ensure that everyone is well fed and satisfied when they leave the table.

As supporters of the Slow Food Movement and the Vegetarian Society we try to apply some of their basic principles to our hospitality standards.

We will provide you with seven hearty breakfasts, seven mouth-wateringly calorific afternoon teas and the main focus of the day (apart from your adventures up the hill) will be the evening meal, provided the traditional six nights a week - one night a week we let you loose on the local restaurants to eat your fill of cheese and ham.

Breakfast - At Breakfast we will make sure you leave the chalet fuelled up and ready for a hard day up the hill. Whether you prefer a bowl of porridge, something more continental, or a cooked option - healthy or not, there will be something for you to start the day with.

Afternoon Tea - Upon your return from the hill you will be welcomed with a tempting choice of cakes, scones, biscuits and bread & jam, not to mention drinks -including Rachael’s vin chaud or a warming hot chocolate. At this point in the day its time to rest and relax those weary muscles in the comfort of your room or make use of the facilities in the lounge. Take advantage of the complimentary bar and stave off your appetite with some pre-dinner canapés, or head into town for a drink or two before dinner.

Dinner - Dinner will be served around 7.30pm and will be of a contemporary European style. We like to make the most of the fantastic ingredients available in France, all complimented with our selection of wines. This will be followed by a selection of cheeses and then coffee, teas and chocolates served in the comfort of the lounge, before we carry you back to your rooms to sleep it off in preparation for another day on the hill.

Drinks - We provide a complimentary bar which includes beer, wine, soft drinks, mixers and plenty of ice and lemon! Tea, coffee and hot chocolate will also be available for you to help yourself to whenever you fancy.

Children’s Meals - We are more than happy to adapt our menu to make it more child friendly. Your children are of course welcome to join you at the dinner table, however they may wish to have an earlier dinner which is no problem either.

Dietary Requirements - Please do let us know if you have dietary requirements of any nature, preferences, likes or dislikes. We don’t want anyone to feel left out!!

Special Occasions - Don’t forget to tell us if you have an occasion to celebrate while staying in Chalet Meleze, we will be more than happy to ensure that it is celebrated in style!

Ski Resort and Chalet Location

Ski Chalet Chalet Meleze is in La Tania, France

Chalet meleze is located in the chalet quarter of La Tania.  It is approximately 5 minutes walk from the village centre (10 minutes in ski boots!!) ,and is located metres away from the blue and green pistes that run through the village centre and stop at the lift station.

La Tania is part of the huge, world famous, alpine ski resort known as the Three Valleys which consists of 200 lifts and over 600km of patrolled pistes.

It is the latest village to be developed in the Courchevel Valley and can be found nestled in a beautiful pine forest at 1400m. It was built as the athlete’s village for the 1992 Winter Olympics but has since grown and established itself as a superb resort in its own right without losing its village atmosphere and charm.

It is conveniently located just a couple of lifts and a short ski away from Courchevel 1850 - the main hub of the valley, and the same distance from Meribel in the next valley. It is a great place for skiers and boarders of all abilities to base themselves with green, blue and red pistes all running down into the resort.

As these pistes run through the forest they are well protected during heavy snowfalls so you don’t have to stop skiing and there are snow cannons running all down the blue run to ensure that you can always ski home if there is a shortage of the real stuff.

There are several board parks and plenty of off-piste to satisfy the more adventurous. As well as a gondola and a drag lift taking you to the slopes above the resort and beyond there is a free drag lift suitable for beginners and with several ski schools based in resort what could be more convenient?

If there are non-skiers in your group or you just fancy a break from skiing there are plenty of other things to do around Courchevel such as ice skating, bowling, dog sledding, ice carting, snow-shoe walks, skidooing, paragliding, parachuting, indoor climbing, swimming, shopping to mention but a few.

The village centre is completely pedestrianised and comprises:

  • 4 ski hire shops
  • a tourist office
  • a post office
  • a bakery
  • a newsagents
  • a supermarket
  • 5 bars
  • 8 restaurants
  • a pizza take-away
  • a cash point

There is a free bus every hour that runs from La Tania to Courchevel 1850 via all the other villages in the valley. La Tania has a large amount of free parking.
