La Rosiere

Find Chalets Resort Guide to La Rosiere

La Rosiere might lack the charm of a historical Alpine village, but the easy access to the main cable car does make up for this.

La Rosiere has a couple of unique selling points that help to explain its enduring popularity. It enjoys glorious views over Mont Blanc and is set over two bowls spanning the border between France and Italy.

In the heart of the Haute-Tarentaise, at 1850 m above sea level, on a "balcony" facing due South, La Rosière is a friendly resort built respecting mountain architectural traditions.

Beginners

Complete beginners will begin on the nursery lifts in town before progressing to the straightforward blues accessed by the Roches Noire chair.

Intermediate

The main La Rosiere bowl is pretty much intermediate heaven, with red after red to explore.

Expert

If you go over to La Thuile you'll find some more open reds and blues and also some extremely steep blacks that run down through the trees to the village. There's also an interesting off-piste area that is covered by the mountain security but not pisted or bashed in any way. Perfect for the budding extremist.
