The Alpine resort of Flaine was created in 1969 and is located in the centre of a natural bowel.
Flaine is a huge snow-sure bowl at the heart of the Grand Massif ski area, the fourth largest ski domain in France. The skiing is extensive and varied, with trees, moguls and sunny motorways. These predominantly north- and northwest-facing runs are very reliable; all levels of skier should find something to suit.

Flaine spans over thee different areas, Flaine Foret sitting at 1700m, Flaine Forum at 1600m and finally Flaine Front de Neige situated at 1500m. The three resorts in Flaine are connected by to connecting ski lifts and two pedestrian trails.
Flaine has over 265 kilometres of varied ski runs as part of the Grand Massif, with connections to the ski resort of Samoens.
One of the good things about skiing in Flaine is that many of the ski chalets are ski-in, ski-out or the closest lift is just metres from your doorstep.
Novice skiers love the wide, gentle nursery slopes close to the village centre and there are some free beginners' lifts. Cristal and Olivine are a nice way to ease into it.
The red slopes in the Flaine bowl are perfect for improving your skills; go to the Serpentine, Faust or Mephisto. The Dolomie leading to the neighbouring resorts follows more challenging, narrow tree-lined trails.
Taxing black runs include the Diamond Noir, Styx and the wooded run down to Samoens or try the off-piste in the Gers bowl.
Gers bowl and the off-piste surrounds are the best place to get somedeep snow. With a guide and some energy for hiking you can find some of the best powder in France!

Every Sunday Jam Park has a snow party, with a barbeque and DJ’s, which is well worth a visit on your ski holidays in Flaine. There is also a half-pipe, boarder cross, a range of jumps, a reception chalet and a sound system.
