Find Chalets Resort Guide to Bormio

Bormio has a charm of its own which is characteristic of places steeped in history. A spa town for over two thousand years, the village of Bormio has a mixture of very distinctive architectural styles, evidence of trends which have permeated Italian history. Bormio is however not old-fashioned, but benefits from numerous tourist facilities.

Skiing in Bormio

Bormio Ski Resort

The ski area is more paradoxical: in in spite of 2,000 meters of altitude difference, the slopes are limited in number and experienced skiers will no doubt prefer to take advantage of the combined fixed charge pass covering the Alta Valtellina ski area to explore the resort of Livigno or one of the Swiss resorts in the Engadine.

Beginners: Beginner skiers will find a good range of nursery slopes half-way up the mountain. There is also an excellent ski school.

Intermediates: Bormio is an ideal ski holiday choice for the intermediate skier. There are lots of long red runs, and with quiet pistes and snowsure.

Experts: Bormio does have some  off piste but isn't a perfect for advanced skiing.
