Chalet Jora is a beautiful catered ski chalet in Bansko, Bulgaria. With 5 bedrooms the chalet sleeps up to 14 guests. Friendly English hosts will cater for your every need, from arranging lift passes, ski hire and lessons, to childcare and restaurant reservations.

The chalet features all the mod cons youd expect from a luxury chalet, but retains the charming features of a tradtional Bulgarian house, such as wooden beams and log fire.

Based in an excellent central location, Chalet Jora is only a 2 minute walk from the shops, bars and restaurants. The gondola station in Bansko is only a 7 minute walk from the chalet, however we provide a shuttle service to and from the lift each day.

Rental Facilities

Chalet Jora is a traditional ski and snowboarding chalet situated in the heart of Bansko’s picturesque old town. Bansko is the biggest and best ski and snowboard resort in Bulgaria, at 2900m there are over 70km of skiable slopes and you can ski right down into the resort. If you are looking for great quality, affordable skiing then look no further!

The chalet is ideally located, just a stones throw from the historical old town and main street where there is an abundance of local shops, bars, restaurants and night clubs. The main ski lift is a short walk away, however we provide daily shuttle services in our private minibus.

The chalet was renovated in the summer of 2008 to offer guests comfort and luxury as well as retaining traditional charming features such as the dark wood beams, wooden floors and a beautiful log fire. Creating the perfect atmosphere and environment to relax with a drink and a cake in the spacious lounge after a great day on the slopes.

There are 2 family rooms, each sleeping 4 people, 1 twin room, and 2 double rooms. The chalet also boasts 4 bathrooms, all equipped with powerful showers and one bath so that you can soak away any aches and pains following an energetic day on the slopes.

Outside the chalet a long courtyard provides a covered seating area, equipment storage and a Bansko style stone paved BBQ / sun lounge area. There is also an indoor boot drying room so that all of your equipment is dry and warm ready for the following day on the slopes.

Chalet Food

Our hearty homecooked meals are perfect after a long day on the slopes and the free wine served with dinner helps wash it all down!

Breakfast is served in the continental style, with tea, coffee, juice, fresh bread with jams and conserves, tomatoes, salami, cheese, croissants, and cooked eggs.

Afternoon tea is served daily with tea, coffee and homemade cakes.

Dinner is served 6 nights a week and consists of 3 courses. For example:

Starter - Homemade chicken liver pate served with toasted bread and red onion marmalade

Main - Roasted fillet of pork served with a creamy mushroom sauce, hassleback potatoes and fresh vegetables

Dessert - Chocolate souffle served with fresh cream

There are over 70 kilometers of piste marked area, a multitude of techno alpine snow cannons cover the slopes to top up the snow and improve the ski season. Bansko offers runs and tracks for all types of skiers and snowboards and will suit beginners, intermediates and experts. For the expert skiers and boarders a vast amount of off piste area is begging to be explored, though we would always recommend taking a guide and the appropriate equipment. The fun park is equipped with boxes, rails and kickers with varying levels of difficulty. Competitions are often held in the snow park, including the Burton Pro-Amateur event.

Bansko offers the best après ski experience of all the Bulgarian ski resorts, it is after all a modern ski village combined with a rustic old town. The fantastic location of this chalet means that you are just a stones throw away from main street & historic square. There you will find a wide variety of lively mehanas (traditional Bulgarian restaurants), traditional taverns, bars and night clubs. An additional bonus is that the flexible Chalet Jora shuttle bus will allow you to enjoy the Après spirit in the bars at the gondola station and pick you up at your convenience.
